This year I focused on [area] and achieved [key outcome]. I'm proud of [specific achievement].

Overall, I met or exceeded my goals in [areas]. I also took on additional responsibilities in [area].

I led the [project], which resulted in [quantifiable outcome]. For example, [specific metric or result].

I improved [process/metric] by [percentage or amount] through [action]. This contributed to [broader impact].

I collaborated with [team/department] to [achievement]. My role was [specific contribution].

I faced challenges in [area], particularly [specific issue]. I addressed this by [action] and learned [lesson].

There were areas where I could have done better, such as [area]. I'm working on [improvement plan].

  • I consistently delivered [deliverable] on time and received positive feedback from [stakeholder].
  • I took initiative to [action], which led to [outcome].
  • I mentored [number] team members and helped them [achievement].
  • I expanded my skills in [area] through [training/project/experience].

Specific(具體):

My goal is to [specific action/outcome], not just "improve" or "do better."

Measurable(可衡量):

I will [action] and track progress through [metric]. Target: [number] by [date].

Achievable(可達成):

This goal aligns with my current role and the team's priorities. I have [resources/support] to achieve it.

Relevant(相關):

This supports [company/team objective] and my development in [area].

Time-bound(有時限):

I will complete [milestone] by [date] and achieve [final outcome] by [end date].

Increase customer satisfaction score from 4.2 to 4.5 by Q4 through implementing the new feedback loop and training the support team.

Lead the launch of [product/feature] by June 30, with adoption target of 10K users in the first month.

Complete [certification/course] by September and apply the skills to [specific project].

  • I propose the following goals for the next review period.
  • I'd like to discuss how these align with team and company priorities.
  • I'm open to adjusting based on your feedback.

I've completed my self-assessment. The highlights for me this year were [achievement 1] and [achievement 2]. I'd love to hear your perspective.

What do you think I did well? / Where do you see room for improvement?

How do you think I can grow in the next year?

I've drafted some goals for next year. Can we go through them together?

To achieve [goal], I might need [support/training/budget]. Is that something we can discuss?

I'm interested in [direction/role]. What would you recommend I focus on to get there?

Are there opportunities for [stretch assignment/leadership/rotation] in the coming year?

  • I appreciate your feedback. I'll incorporate it into my development plan.
  • Can we schedule a follow-up to check on my progress toward these goals?
  • I'd like to understand how my performance ties into compensation and promotion decisions.

Thank you — I appreciate the recognition. I'll keep building on [area].

I'm glad [achievement] was valued. I'll continue to focus on [related area].

I understand. I'll work on [area] and would welcome any specific suggestions or resources.

That's helpful feedback. Can we set a check-in in [timeframe] to review my progress?

I appreciate your perspective. From my side, I felt [different view]. Could we discuss how to align our understanding?

I'd like to add some context on [situation]. I had [constraint/challenge] which affected [outcome].

  • I'm committed to improving in [area]. What would success look like to you?
  • Thank you for being direct. I take this seriously and will create an action plan.

"I managed the project" 不如 "I managed the project, delivering on time and under budget, resulting in 20% cost savings."

This year I led the redesign of our mobile app onboarding flow. We conducted user research with 50+ participants, iterated on three prototypes, and launched in Q3. Post-launch metrics show a 35% increase in completion rate and a 20% reduction in support tickets related to onboarding. I also mentored a junior designer on the project. For next year, I propose to lead the expansion of this approach to our web product, with a target of similar improvement in web onboarding completion by Q3.

I think my biggest growth was in stakeholder management. The onboarding project involved product, engineering, and support. I learned to align different priorities and communicate progress clearly. I'd like to take on more cross-functional leadership next year.

I'd like to schedule quarterly check-ins to review my progress on the goals we set. Would that work for you?

I've made progress on [goal 1] — [brief update]. For [goal 2], I'm slightly behind due to [reason], but I have a plan to catch up by [date].

Given [change in business priority], I'd like to discuss adjusting [goal]. I propose [revised goal]. What do you think?

Throughout the year, I kept a log of achievements and feedback. This made my self-assessment much easier to write.

  • Don't wait until December to think about your accomplishments — document them monthly.
  • If you're behind on a goal, raise it early. Managers appreciate proactive communication.
  • Celebrate milestones with your team — it reinforces a culture of recognition.

A strong self-assessment shows self-awareness — one of the most valued traits in leadership.

  • Keep a "win journal" — a simple document where you log achievements, positive feedback, and lessons learned each month.
  • Align your goals with your manager's priorities — goals that support team objectives are more likely to get support and resources.
